Miriam joined us in 2016 to further her dance training before applying to drama school. Whilst at the MDK Academy she worked to her enhance her natural dance abilities and also further develop her previously trained skills in Singing and Acting. Miriam was an extremely hard working and dedicated pupil and flourished in her time at the Academy. Eventually receiving a place to study at Artsed - the best Musical Theatre school in the country - Miriam then went on to playing roles such as 'Cover Angelica/Peggy/Eliza' in the Original London cast of 'Hamilton', earning her a Stage Award nomination. Miriam then went on to star as 'Juliet' in the original Manchester and West End cast of '&Juliet', a role in which she won a Sir Laurence Olivier Award for. Miriam still visits the Academy to work with its current pupils and we now offer the Miriam Teak Lee award to a BIPOC performer every year, who's training is completely funded by the Academy.
